We have some friends in Southern California that have invited us out for a visit. I have never been to California and there are several places I would like to visit on our trip. Disneyland and some of California's beautiful beaches are at the very top of my list.
One of the beach towns I want to visit is the quaint city of Newport Beach, "where SoCal sophistication meets laid-back beach town". After watching this promotional video, I just can't wait to visit the beautiful beach. Watch it for yourself...

I was browsing some of the family resorts on the where to stay tab and the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach looks like a wonderful place for families to stay. It's a resort-style hotel with 26 acres and 3-pools! They also have shuffle board, ping pong, a 9-hole, par-3 golf course. (My hubby loves to play golf.) Right now if you rent one room at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach for full price you will receive a connecting room for kids 18 and under at 50% off. To get this special deal, just call 800-233-1234 and mention the Family Plan.
After booking your stay, be sure to check out the things to do tab. I went straight to the kids camp section. The city of Newport Beach offers hundreds of camp options for kids ages 3 and up. I would love to sign my kids up for the surf camp. While they are off having fun learning to surf, I can indulge in my favorite beach activity. Relaxing with a good book, listening to the surf and watching the kids play. What do you like to do at the beach?

We stayed in Newport beach for a couple of days last year on our big USA adventure. We absolutely loved it and both my DD and I have decided that it could possibly be one of the nicest places we have ever been. We didn't do much other than enjoy the beach and scenery but for us, that was enough.
