Get that New Car Smell Back with PERK Vent Wrap (plus a 6 month supply giveaway)

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of PERK for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

If you're been following me on Instagram, you might remember seeing this picture a few months back...

Yes, my husband wrecked his (paid off) truck.  (Everyone was ok, but since he rear-ended the vehicle in front of him, the accident was his fault.)

We made an agreement a few years back that we would never again waste our money on new cars.  Which is great in theory, but the reality of a used car is that most of them are just a little bit stinky.  Now imagine a used truck, in Texas (in our price range.)

It took a good month of us looking at used trucks before we found one that would work.  Hubby kept bringing home different used trucks to show me, and not a single one was making me happy (or passing my sniff test.)  We finally found one in San Antonio that seemed better than anything else we looked at and bought it. ( I would like to have kept looking, but having only one car was starting to wear on us.)

When PERK offered to send me some of their new Vent Wrap air fresheners, the timing couldn't have been any better and I was excited to try them out in my Husband's truck.

They sent me 3 different scents to try.  Absolute Zero, Clean Laundry and New Car Smell.

The PERK Vent Wraps  are made with a patent-pending layered StediScent® technology that regulates the fragrance delivery, so no more wondering where the fragrance went after just a couple of days.

I really like how each vent air freshener came individually wrapped,  so the scent stays in the package until you open it.  This helps the fragrance last longer.  Each pack has 4 vent wraps so your fragrance should last up to 60 days.

The vent wrap slips right over vent blade.  No mess, doesn't block air flow and allows the vent to work as designed.  It even worked on the round vent blades of our truck.

It's also very discreet, you could hardly see the air freshener, but you could definitely notice the fragrance.  Of the three scents we tried, my favorite was the New Car Smell.  (It didn't really smell like a new car, but the scent was very pleasant.)

If you're in the market for a new car air freshener, I definitely recommend trying out the new PERK Vent Wraps.

  1. We bought our daughter a used truck & the previous owner was a pipe smoker. Although I don't mind the scent, it makes Daughter sick to her stomach. We have tried everything & am sure this summer, the New Mexico heat is going to make her new ride unbearable!! I feel SO bad for her & the hubs is trying to decide if they want to return it. It was a VERY good deal & she absolutely LOVES this truck. BUT.....................well, you know exactly what I am talking about, don't you?!!

    1. I know how she feels, I can not stand the hint of tobacco smoke, several of the ones we looked at had a smoke odor. I told my hubby, there is no way I could handle a car that had been smoked in. We have an upholstered chaise lounge that one of our cats (who soon became an outdoor cat) had peed on multiple times. I thought we were going to have to throw it away, but I took it outside and hosed/scrubbed it down several times and then just left it outside for a couple of weeks. The sun and water eventually helped get rid of the smell. Maybe they can make the truck their weekend project for the next month and wash the interior down and leave the doors open for the entire weekend (multiple times...)
      Good luck,
      ~Jamie

    2. Good idea! I will tell them this as the coming 7-8 days are to be GORGEOUS according to our weather gal. She did try Fabreeze but honestly I think that just masks the odor for a few & then when it wears off, POW, the smell is right back!

  5. We bought a truck that had a smoker in it at one point and time. We used Odoban to get rid of the smell, it worked pretty good, but there was still the hint of smoke. This would have been an awesome way to help get rid of the rest of the smell!

  6. This sounds great. My husband uses an air freshener in his car sometimes, but it is very overpowering (and I love SCENTS). Plus, the way it is made he can't really adjust his vents. This sounds great. Thanks for covering it.
