Slouchy Crochet Beanie and Arm Warmers

I've been busy with more crochet projects!  I finally finished this slouchy beanie to go with the arm warmers I had already made.

How darling is this hat?

Both of these projects were fairly easy to make...  I used this pattern for the hat: Meladora's Squiggly Slouch Hat.  I love the technique used.  It's called front post double crochet and she has a video that demonstrates the stitch that was very helpful...

The tutorial for the arm warmers is found here and could not be any easier.

Adorable Slouchy Crochet Beanie and Arm Warmers made with free patterns! #crochet #freepattern #hat

To make the bow, I just single crocheted two rectangles, one big and one small.  I pinched the middle of the larger rectangle together and using a piece of yarn, weaved the smaller rectangle in place on top.  Then used another piece of yarn to weave the edges of the "bow" in place.

Iv'e also made myself a really neat infinity scarf for Valentine's Day.  If I could ever get my hair done and make up on - on the same day...  I might take some pictures and show it off too.

Let me know if you make any of these!

  1. Very cute! I've never learned how to crochet but I might give it a whirl now. I can knit a bit - seems similar, yes? Except with a hook instead of two needles?

P.S. I'm a fan of infinity scarves, too! Made a bunch for Christmas in minky dot and pretty knits. I won't put a link in here, but it's on my blog in the "To Infinity, and Beyond!" post if you're curious. (Yes, I know, corny title.....=) I'm thinking about trying some voiles for spring. What did you use?

  2. What an adorable hat and arm warmers! Thank you so much for the links! One question I have about crochet....do you only "turn" your work when you are working in rows? So when making hats, you continue to sew it round and round unless they say otherwise?

  4. These are so beautiful - just like your darling little model! :) I have no idea how you crocheters and knitters do it. My MIL knits and creates these insanely gorgeous blankets and socks, hats and mittens. They are so cute. Hats off to you (see what I did there?) :)!!
