Hope your family is OK in TEXAS after the storm. I am 70 y old & am a vet. For my ptsd i am learning to make quilts. I am going to try to make them for other vets in the va hosp. I like the one of strips decause it looks easy. My wife helped me with the first quilt i made. Not perfit but it is my first to help with my nerves. God bless..

What an amazing gesture, thank you! The strip one and the fat quarter ones are very easy to get started with! My immediate family is safe and healthy, but my brother and his family, SIL and MIL have all been displaced from Harvey, and it will be months before all the repairs are done and they can return to their home. ~Jamie

Didn’t tell you that we live in mid florida. The last storm realy hit hard all the way up the south east. Not much damage, thank GOD. Haven’t had time to work on my quilts. Did finish a table runner for a neighbor with scraps i had. Still learning to quilt. God bless.

Larry I really think you ought to give knitting a try. Something about knitting that takes you to happy place. And thank you for your service to our country! Happy quilting!

Larry what I like best about homemade quilts are that they are not perfect. I tell people all the time that if you want perfect go to the store but if you want it filled with love get a homemade. I prefer mine with imperfections. I even put on many of my labels “Like life, this quilt is not perfect but it is full of love.” Hope you make many beautiful quilts.

that’s great Larry. I have made many quilts for people who are going thru cancer or other horrible medical problems. Most have died now but I believe that they got a lot of comfort from the quilt I made them. I love to do it because it makes me feel better that someone will enjoy and get comforted from the quilt. for most that is the best we can do for them. keep it up and enjoy the process too. Karen

Jamie, thank you for offering these great quilt directions. I’m a retired teacher and want to start a new project. I’m not exactly sure of the process for use of the directions. Is there somewhere I order the fabric, or do I use fabric of my own? Thank you for clarification.
