Have you heard of the Secret Recipe Club (SRC)? The SRC is a monthly recipe club full of all types food bloggers. (I say all types because I don’t really even consider myself a food blogger, I just love to cook and
share the recipes that my family loves, along with all the other stuff I do…)
Each month you are assigned a new “secret” blog. (It’s a secret because the blog owner does not know who has been assigned to their blog until the reveal date.) All you have to do is visit the new blog and choose a recipe to recreate, then make the recipe. On the designated day you reveal your assigned blog and the recipe you chose.
I already follow a few blogs that are part of the Secret Recipe Club. I just love the idea of discovering new blogs and picking out a different recipe to cook with. Quite a while ago, I visited the SRC website to read the rules and find out what it took to be a part. It didn’t sound too difficult, just a few rules, mainly you needed 60 recipes to join.
I was so close to having 60 recipes! I spent the next few months cooking and baking to add enough new recipes to join. When I finally hit 60 and went back to fill out the membership request form, I discovered they had changed the recipe requirements to 100 recipes !! Ugh! I needed 40 more to join! So, I spent several months of the last year adding to my recipe collection. Finally, I hit 100 and was accepted into the club…
I’m so excited today to join in the fun with my very first Secret Recipe Club post! The blog assigned to me was Nettie from Moore or Less Cooking. Nettie has a ton of recipes to choose from. I browsed her site a little bit and settled on the “Easy” Category. (That shouldn’t be too much of a surprise…) I found a great recipe of hers to make, the Double Berry White Chocolate Mini Muffins.
The main reasons I chose this recipe is that I happened to have fresh blueberries and black berries on hand and it gave me another excuse to use my Babycakes Cupcake maker!! (Love that thing!)
I didn’t change up the recipe that much other than to leave out the white chocolate chips and add a teaspoon of vanilla. The kids have had a lot of chocolate over the last week and I wanted these to have a touch less sugar. These muffins make a wonderful mid morning or after school snack, the everyone loved them!
Don’t they look pretty (even though they are a bit misshapen…?
