Father’s day is around the corner and yes, we definitely need to honor all the fabulous Dads out there, they deserve it! But what about the single Moms? These hardworking women, struggling to do it all and be both Mom and Dad to their little ones- they need to be celebrated too!
We have a friend, who’s a single mom. (She has teenage daughter and 9 year old twins.) She’s fortunate to have a flexible job, but I really don’t know how she manages to squeeze everything in. I can only imagine the difficulty of managing it all for a mom with a full 40 hour work week and no help….
Angel Soft created this heartwarming video to help celebrate the single Mom’s who are balancing the softness of a mom with the strength of handling it all. Life is a constant balancing act and Angel Soft wants to be there for you!
So how does a singe Mom do it all? I don’t have the answer, but I know I want to do what I can to help! Here are five great ways you can help a single Mom:
1. Help her enjoy some kid-free time: Offer to have her kids over for a playdate or set up a babysitting co-op. (Take turns babysitting each others children)
2. Make her a meal: Next time you are making a meal that would freeze well, double it and deliver the meal to her.
3. Offer to carpool with her kids. One of the biggest challenges our friend has is getting her older child to her various activities. If you have children in the same activities, offer to carpool with them.
5. Offer to be her “back up”. This one has to be hard to handle with a full time job and no second parent. All those early dismissals and snow days, offer to be her back up and watch her kids along with yours.
So to all the great Dad’s out there, Happy Father’s Day! And to all the great single Mom’s out there too, Happy Father’s Day, Mom!
