I love an Easy Quilt Project, don’t you? If you are searching for your next project, how about a beautiful summer quilt! Putting together a simple quilt top will definitely keep you busy, and the best part is I’m giving away 6 1/4 yards to one lucky reader!
I’ve been working on this quilt top on and off for quite a while. (Not going to admit how long, lol) I enjoyed having this project in my stash- whenever I felt bored or un inspired, I would pull it out and spend about 30 minutes or so at a time on it.
I don’t do a lot of quilting – probably because they are so time-consuming to finish (although the projects listed below were fairly easy to do, and are great beginner projects.)
Most of my quilt projects had up to this point have been simple with- no pattern needed. For this project, I wanted to try my hand at following a quilt pattern. Since I had a new 10 1/2 inch square ruler to play with, I searched around for a pattern that was based on a layer cake. (Settled on this one, but there are a ton of other pdf patterns to choose from on Etsy.)
Now that the quilt top is finally pieced together, It’s time to start thinking about how to finish it…
I plan to bind it with the dark purple fabric and use solid orange for the back. The quilting is my least favorite part, and I’m very very tempted to send it off to be professionally quilted. (I just need to find a place that does it at a reasonable cost!)
Now, are you ready to see the fabrics up for grab in the giveaway?
Pretty aren’t they?
Such perfect fabric for summer, leading into fall! (Of course, you don’t have to use these on a quilt, many of these would be perfect for a peasant dress, pillowcase dress (yes- I used the daisy fabric on this one!), tiered dress or panel skirt.
These fabrics coordinate so well, they would also be fabulous with various types of fabric pieces projects, such as Patchwork shorts and appliqued tee, Stripwork dress, Patchwork Tunic Top, Decorative Tea towels, Quilted Camera/phone Case or even this table runner!
