That about sums up my activities for the week… I have been working on a bunch of projects, but don’t have much to show for it…
I found these swimsuit cover-ups at Wal-mart. I love anything pink, so I bought me one and the smallest size I could find for my daughter. I just shortened the top on hers and added some elastic and Voila! Matching swimsuit cover-ups for the pool today!
The rest of my projects are only half complete…
I added some shirring to the bottom of this shirt:
I am not happy with it, now it just makes me look chubby. Any suggestions?
I have made multiple adjustments to this top to give it a better fit, and I am almost done. Just need to finish picking out the hem and redo it. I am having trouble with the twin needle “tunneling”. One tip I found on the internet is to use some sort of stabilizer in the hem. Someone even suggested spray starch. I’ve tried spray starch before on knits, but it is a pain, I think I will experiment with some fabric glue I have. It makes the fabric nice and stiff after it dries. I’ll give you an update on the technique I use when I finish it.
I have been painting the master bathroom a little bit at a time. I am using a Benjamin Moore paint with a pearlescent finish. Can you see it?
You can kind of see the sheen better here where I was cleaning off the roller…
I have also been adding color enhancer and sealer to our new backsplashes a little bit at a time. Here are a few pictures:
Kitchen desk area.
Niche in dining room. I am going to paint this area in either a darker color or with a glaze.
I also have a few pairs of shorts for my son on my to do list. I want to get them done for back to school…
I hope to get some of these projects finished up over the weekend and have something to show you next week!
