Yea! I finally got some sewing done for my daughter. Somehow, I lost my sewing motivation over the last few months. (I think it just has to do with wintertime…) I want to get back in to it, I really do love to sew for my children. Mostly shorts for my son and little dresses and tops for my daughter. I haven’t managed to organize my craft room yet, but maybe I will get to that next week.
I have been trying to work out the kinks with the Serger I got last year. I love to be able to make the rolled edge hem!
Here is a pillow case style dress I made with some of the knits I picked up from Hobby Lobby last year:
I also made a nightgown using a new look pattern # 6478. I wanted to add a ruffle to the bottom, but this fabric was not much fun to work with, to thin and slippery, so I just finished it off with the rolled edge hem.
I am not sure what I want to make next, possible a halter dress from a free pattern put out last year by stitch magazine and Oliver and S. It is actually a top, but I am sure I can figure out how to lengthen it. I have some yellow and white plaid knit that would be really cute.
Oh well, I cant put the cleaning off any longer… It is my turn to host the neighborhood playdate tomorrow, so I better get to it…
