Rainbow Zipper Pouch Tutorial

The zipper pouch works perfectly as a break-away clutch to put inside a larger tote.  It’s so bright and colorful, you’ll always be able to spot it!

1 ½ cups chicken stock 2 tsp olive oil 1 onion 2 garlic cloves 1 cup rice 2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp curry powder 12 olives 2 artichoke hearts 1 celery stalk

Create a rainbow zipper pouch using any size zipper for various shapes, including red, navy blue, all black, or pencil bags in school colors.

How To Make A Rainbow Zipper Pouch

– Several zippers – Sewing machine – zipper foot – Sharp needle – Hand sewing needle and thread – iron – extra fabric or bias tape – fray check

Materials Needed

Step 1: Sew The Zippers Together.

Once the zippers are all sewn together, fold the block of zippers in half, right sides together, to make a “pouch.”  .

Step 2: Make The Pouch.

Cut a piece of bias tape to the desired length and sew along the edge of the bias tape. Fold the strap in half and insert the strap inside the seams of the pouch. Sew along the sizes of the pouch, getting as close to the metal zipper stops as possible.

Optional step: Add a hand strap.

Flip the pouch right side out, and press edges with warm iron.
