- 3 apples
- 2 1/2 cups of plain flour
- 2/3 cup of ice cold water
- 2/3 cup of oil
- 1 cup of sugar
- 2 teaspoons of cinnamon
- Juice of half a lemon
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- optional: egg white and turbinado sugar

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- Mix flour, baking powder, and half of the sugar. Then, add the oil to the dry ingredients. Use a fork or pastry blender until the ingredients resemble pea-size clumps. Add cold water and form а soft dough. Form a ball and refrigerate the dough for about an hour.
- Slice the apples into 1/8-inch slices. Add them to a medium bowl and toss them with lemon juice. Then, add the remaining sugar and cinnamon and toss to coat.
- Roll the dough into a circle on your baking sheet. Arrange apples in the center of the circle, and fold the edges over the apples.
- Optional step: Create an egg wash (one egg white plus one tbsp water, beaten with a fork) and brush over the edges of the crust. Sprinkle with turbinado sugar.
- Bake until golden brown, about 20 to 25 minutes.
- Serve with your desired topping, and enjoy!
