It’s that time again… Time for a Fabric Giveaway!

Too Much Fabric?

Is there even such a thing? (Yes – If your fabric shelves are overflowing, it may be a sign you have too much fabric!)

I have a terrible habit of purchasing fabric that’s pretty or catches my eye in some way, but I don’t have a specific project mind for.  (Ok, sometimes I do have projects in mind, but life often gets in the way and they don’t get done or even worse, I forget what they were originally bought for!)

Also, my missy has outgrown many of the knit prints in my stash, so there really is no reason to keep all this fabric.

My loss is your gain!

I’m trying to get my sewing room in order. (Am even considering hiring a professional organizer.)

I’ve been cleaning out supplies and fabric that have made several moves with me and survived a few other de-stashes. (I’m slowly letting go.)

I’ve got a nice size pile of knit fabric set aside and I thought about trying to sell the fabric, but selling it seemed like too much work so I thought I would just do a couple giveaways.  (There’s not a thing wrong with any of this fabric.

I purchased every bit of it, but either our tastes have changed, I don’t have enough fabric (most are 1-yard cuts) or I just don’t think I’ll ever use it.

What in the world can you make with knit fabric?

Luckily, I have an entire category dedicated to sewing with knits!

See all the projects, ideas and tutorials here: Sewing with Knits.

A couple that come to mind to use with these fabrics are my free legging pattern (watermelon fabric), Super Simple Ruffle Skirt Tutorial (florescent green fabric), Swing Tank Pattern (cat fabric) and Raglan Tunic Top Tutorial (sweatshirt fabric.)

What’s in the Giveaway?

I did not get out my tape measure to get an accurate measurement of all fabric, but everything (except the pink floral) is at least a yard if not more.

First up, is this lot of blue and green knits…

The cat print is a lovely knit with a super silky feel. (Used it in my missy’s Summer nightgown pattern.)

The blue heart fabric is a sweatshirt fleece and the watermelon fabric is a lightweight cotton lycra. (That one my be 1.5 to 2 yards.)

Next is this brightly colored lot that has several different kinds if knit.

The pink polka dot is swim fabric.

The fluorescent green is a rib knit, the hounds tooth is ponte, owl fabric is a lightweight cotton lycra and the plink floral is a lightweight rayon/polyester/lycra knit that feels super silky to the tough. (It is leftover from my bow-back top pattern.)

Good luck!

  1. I just found this website : ) Awesome

  2. Maybe someday sewers around the world can line up and just SHIFT the fabric to the next person. I’m sure I have something stashed that someone else is looking for the 1/8 yard! We make quilts for Adopt a Husky for the dogs and for auctions to pay for their medical needs. They really love fleece blankets as well and I bind them with SWIMWEAR Lycra fabric. It looks like satin binding, but is more forgiving. Can I send you some snow as well? Chicago got it’s usual amount (just late for Christmas.) Thanks, I enjoy reading your blog.

We would love to have some of that snow! I have an acquaintance in Chicago who has been posting pictures so I know ya’ll have been getting it.

  3. Thanks for the kitten valentines free download!! One of my local granddaughters loves kitties, and these will be perfect for her 🙂 AND, because her favorite color is teal, I had to enter the fabric stash giveaway since the first fabric we see is the white with teal kittens!!! Thanks so much, and have a great weekend!
