The Holidays are just around the corner! I don’t know about you guys, but I’m starting to feel the stress of planning and hosting the holiday meal. Today I have 15 Make Ahead Holiday Dishes and Recipes to share and to hopefully help make your holiday meal be as stress-free as possible.
We’re hosting the family at our house this year and depending on how many older children and significant others come, we could have anywhere from 10 to 20 overnight guests and a few more for the meal.
To alleviate some of the last minute meal prep and ensure everything runs smoothly, my Mom and I will be doing as much as we can a day or two before the big meal. In case anyone else is feeling the same way, I wanted to share a few of our favorite make-ahead holiday recipes and a few party platter ideas with you! (A couple of these can even be done more than a day ahead.)
Thank you to Sam’ Club for partnering with me to bring you this post!
One of my favorite places to shop is Sam’s Club for their affordable, gourmet selections of fresh fruit, veggies, meats, bakery items and frozen foods. They have almost everything I need to “party like a pro” and pull off our holiday meal with as little stress as possible.
Just about all of the dishes shared below are ones that my family has served at one time or another. I hope you will find a couple that work for you and can prepare a few recipes ahead of time too!
Bourbon Sweet Potato Casserole with Sweet ‘n’ Savory Bacon Pecans.
This Sweet Potato Dish is closer to the one we serve.
Classic Cornbread Stuffing Recipe This is one that can be assembled up to the final baking point.
Savory Sausage and Cheddar Bread Pudding A non-traditional dressing dish that would be put together and stored in the fridge until time to bake.
Make ahead Green Bean Casserole
Layered Salad Recipe This is the closest one I could find to the salad my mom used to make… I guess we need to dig that recipe up so I can share it!
Sam goes for this Pea Salad Recipe. Plus it just tastes better served the next day!
Fresh Cranberry Relish Recipe This is pretty much the best Cranberry Relish I have ever had and it’s definitely a recipe that is better the next day!
This Cranberry Salad Recipe looks really yummy too!
Black Cherry Jello Salad Always a family favorite and better served the 2nd day!
Hearty Fruit and Nut Salad with Greek Yogurt Dressing
Three Bean Salad (Our family calls this dish “Christmas Beans.”)
