Summer is just around the corner, have you started making travel plans yet? If not, it’s time to get started! I have 7 Clever Money Saving Hotel Hacks for your Next Family Vacation to share today! This a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Disney. The opinions and text are all mine.
My husband and I have always loved to travel. We were married several years before having children and traveled all over the US and Mexico. (Still haven’t made it “across the pond” but that’s definitely on our bucket list!) We agree that travel is essential for our family and want to ensure our kids have the opportunity to experience many different environments and cultures.
After we had kids, we continued to travel but changed up our destinations and length of stay just a bit (I find it easier and more cost effective when flying is involved, to stay longer.)
Our favorite type of destinations is family friendly resorts with lots of nearby activities. Walt Disney World® Resort is an amazing destination that fits all of my requirements – Disney is so great for families!
Walt Disney World® Resort is the perfect place for families with kids of all ages to spend time together and make memories that will last a lifetime. There are so many magical experiences to be had for younger children, and Disney makes it so easy for visitors to see the sites of the world with our little ones, all in one place!
You can make traveling with children work with any age child, but in my experience, the preschool age is best! Young children (especially the pre-school aged kids) are just so curious and fascinated by everything. Even the smallest activity; like a bus ride or simple nature walk in a new location can be a blast for them, as they are so interested in what’s going on in the world around them.
Vacations are not only a time for the adults to relax and unwind, but they also provide many positive influences for young children. From learning about new cultures and ideas to creating lasting family memories and increasing emotional bonds within the family. Time away from our regular routines teaches our little one’s flexibility, patience and even helps make them more adaptable to new environments. Plus not having to worry about school schedules makes it possible to take trips during the off seasons. (Which is a great money saver!)
Are you ready to plan your next family vacation?
7 Money Saving Hotel Hacks to help you save time and money on your next trip!
1. Keep it cold.
Always, always ask if the room has a refrigerator and if it doesn’t, ask for one to be put in your room. Another great tip is to call when you are about an hour from your hotel and confirm that it is in your room. This is great for not only drinks but for snacks that you have packed and for restaurant leftovers.
2. Restaurant to-go.
Speaking of restaurants, try to avoid room service when you can. Room Service can be costly, and you can get more for your money by ordering directly from a local restaurant that delivers right to the hotel lobby.
3. Hot water.
Don’t forget to utilize the in-room coffee maker for hot water if you have to make baby bottles and don’t have access to easy hot water.
4. Good night.
Pack a small night light and plug it near where your kids are sleeping to make them feel more comfortable and safe in a strange place.
5. Charge up.
If you’ve forgotten one or all of your device chargers, ask the front desk for any from their possible supply or from lost and found. And then check the back of the TV for a USB port.
6. Shine the light.
Don’t let the streetlights from the parking lot keep you awake or the sunrise get your kiddos up way too early by using a clip hanger from the closet to secure the curtain together. Best tip ever.
7. Repack tip.
Use the free laundry bags or ice bucket liners to pack up dirty shoes and clothes before you put them back into your suitcases.
Traveling can be fun with the family; these tips make it more economical and organized. So get planning your next family vacation!
