Hello Kitty Themed Birthday Party:
My baby turned 7 during the holiday break. Where did the time go? She’s just the sweetest little thing, always full of hugs and kisses and had the sweetest baby voice and lisp (which is now almost gone.)
Since her birthday is during the Holiday break, she usually gets the short end of the stick when it comes to parties. We always have a family celebration, but it’s difficult to have a party with all her friends. Everyone is busy with family and other holiday activities or are out of town. This year I decided, no matter what, we were having a party.
Anyone who’s ever hosted a party knows how much work goes into the planning, cleaning and preparation. To make my job easier, rather than making the cake (or in my case, cupcakes,) I decided to order a cupcake cake from the grocery store. Thank you to Bakery Crafts for providing us the cake for our Kello Kitty Themed Party! All opinions are 100% mine.
I do the majority of my grocery shopping at Walmart so I already knew they had a great selection of Bakery Crafts cakes. (Bakery Crafts sells cake decorating kits and accessories. Chances are, if you’ve ordered a licensed character cake or used cake toppers then you’ve already worked with Bakery Crafts.)
We went to Walmart Wednesday afternoon for all the party supplies and food. After browsing through the catalog of Cake Kits, we settled on this adorable Hello Kitty Cake. My daughter loved the rainbow and the toys on the cake. (It came with 4 Hello Kitty rings and a bubble blower {a refillable plastic bottle and bubble wand.}) We did half chocolate and half vanilla with buttercream icing.
Hubby picked up the cake Friday evening on his way home from work. Easy peasy! (Now if cleaning the house were this easy, we’d have parties every week… ha ha.)
It was very yummy! Here is a close up of the bubble blower, though I have a feeling it’s going to end up as a bathtub toy.
I’m so glad we did the party, the weather was perfect. We had hot dogs and s’mores out by the creek.
With hot chocolate and mini-marshmallows too.
Then we went back inside for the games, cupcakes and presents!
We even had a photo booth with fun props to take pictures with.
My experience with the Bakery Crafts cake couldn’t have been any better. We will definitely be using them again. Everyone thought it was great!
