FAQ’s

What if I can’t find the McCormick Italian Herb grinder?

The grinder is available on Amazon here, but I’m sure you can find it at your local store. (It’s super versatile – I use it on so many things.) If you would like to make your own spice blend, use these spices: 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper, one teaspoon cracked black pepper, one teaspoon dried oregano, one teaspoon dried basil, one teaspoon dried parsley, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt .)

What’s the best oil for dipping bread?

I recommend extra virgin olive oil for dipping your bread. Try to buy the best quality you can find at an affordable price. It really does make a difference in the taste. Our favorite is the Rustico di Casa Asaro Unfiltered Extra Virgin Olive Oil. This olive oil is an HEB only product, so if you are in Texas, you may be able to get your hands on it.

Is dipping bread in olive oil healthy?

Dipping bread in olive oil is a heart-healthier alternative to butter, but it is definitely not low in calories. However, this is not why I love dipping bread in olive oil. It tastes great and is a fun way to eat fresh bread.

Do you toast the bread before dipping?

To toast or not to toast is a personal preference. I know that when I use fresh, straight-from-the-oven bread, it tastes absolutely wonderful dipped in olive oil. If the bread is a day or two old, then it is nice to toast it.
