Springtime Fun and Creating Memories

When it comes to the changing seasons, Spring and Fall are definitely my favorite seasons. I love Fall and the changing leaves, but there’s just something special about Springtime that makes it my very favorite time of the year. After being cooped up all winter, the warm temperatures, bright green trees and gorgeous flowers in bloom make us want to get outside, enjoy life and make some happy memories as a family.
One of our favorite mild weather, outdoor activities is spending the evening outside playing in the creek and having dinner and roasting marshmallows around the fire pit. (Notice I said mild weather- hanging out around the fire pit in the middle of a Texas summer is no fun…)
We have been lucky this year to have gotten enough rain to fill our little creek with just enough water to play in.
And of course get the wildflower season started off with a bang!
Even though today was an extracurricular free day, (and thanks to the STAAR tests this week, a homework free day too.) Who wants to slave away alone in the kitchen when everyone else is outside, having a good time! We had hot dogs and marshmallows on the menu for dinner, so as a side, I went with one of our favorite stand-by’s: Horizon Organic Mac and Cheese. It cooks up in a jiffy and leaves us with more time for fun. My kids love the this brand of Mac & Cheese because it’s so tasty and cheesy. I love it because it has 10 grams of protein and organic ingredients!
Now doesn’t that look like s’more fun?
