Christmas Outfit

I finished up my daughters Christmas outfit last week. I saw the cutest Christmas Set in the CW Kids catalog and wanted to try to recreate it.
To make this dress, I used my Dropped-Waist Dress Pattern. I modified it a little by lowering the waist and widening the bottom for more fullness. I also lengthened the sleeves, gathered them at the end and finished them with binding. For the pants, I just traced a pair she already had and added a 6 inch ruffle to the bottom.
After I took these pictures, I went back and shortened the sleeves another inch and took 2 inches off the bottom ruffle of the dress. Looks much better, I think. I have tried to get some new pictures, but the weather has been so cold and rainy for the past week, I haven’t had much luck…
You can see how long the sleeves really were in this picture:
We have been curling my daughters hair with rag curls, she is loving having her hair curly. She has been prancing around in her princess dress and crown and keeps looking at herself in the mirror. It’s so funny to watch.
Rag curls are pretty easy to do if you haven’t tried it. I just dampen her hair and twist small sections around a strips of fabric.
I will be linking up to some of the Linky parties found here.
