The holidays are just around the corner! I don’t know about you, but right now, I’m in deep cleaning mode. In just a day or two, I’ll be hosting our thanksgiving dinner for 18 family members!
I have so many things that still need to be done…
School is out, so not only do I have to entertain my kids, I have to get all the grocery shopping done for several meals and the holiday meal, plus organize, do laundry and get everything clean. (I’m not the best at keeping up with the daily house keeping chores, but I do like a sparkling clean house for guests.)
When cleaning the house for guests, I have a method/cleaning schedule I like to follow. Most importantly, I always leave the kitchen for last. Then, I send the hubby and kids out for dinner in the evening to keep it clean. (If I don’t, then I just end up having to re-clean the kitchen.)
I was sent a can of Steel Meister to test out on my Stainless Steel appliances. (It’s available at Home Depot in the appliance dept.) If you want to read more about it, you can check out all the Steel Meister reviews on their website.
Steel Miester cleans, polishes, conditions and shines without streaking. It also helps to repel dirt, smudges and fingerprints. As a house with 2 sticky fingered children I need all the help I can get. (What’s even better is that you can use it on copper, chrome, aluminum, fiberglass, kitchen appliances, outdoor grills, automotive trim and/or bathroom fixtures.)
The first place I used it was on the microwave. I sprayed the cleaner directly on the door and let it soak in. You can see how thick the Steel Meister solution is. (It leaves a microscopic coating which absorbs into the surface to help protect your stainless steel.)
Turned out pretty good don’t you think? Here is a before and after shot:
Next, I used Steel Miester on my stovetop. I’ll admit, I don’t clean my stove stop after each use, so it was pretty dirty and I had to use a hot soapy sponge first to remove all the dried on spills. I’m sure you can picture the streaks left behind… But look how gorgeous my stainless steel cooktop looks after I applied the Steel Meister. It looks brand new again! (and we’ve lived here over 3 years, check out the reflection of the middle burner…)
I’ve started a new pinterest board for my before and after cleaning projects and hope to add more soon. (You can see what I have added so far here.)
10 lucky readers will receive sample cans of Steel Meister Stainless Steel cleaner and one of the 10 will win a $100 gift card from Home Depot! Just fill out the Raffle copter form below. (open to US residents only.)
I’m curious, what stainless steel surfaces do you find most frustrating to clean and are most excited to clean with Steel Meister?

Sorry about that, this post is pretty old. I found something else I like just as much, it’s called Weiman stainless steel wipes. It also coms in a spray, but for some reason I love the wipes.
With this stuff, you wipe it on and then buff with a microfiber cloth. And all my stainless steel look amazing!
