Kiwi Crate Review

My kids love to craft and I love watching their imaginations grow.  But lets face it, we are all busy and sometimes it’s hard to come up with new and creative craft ideas and find the time to purchase and organize all the supplies needed for craft time.

This is when a company like Kiwi Crate can make a huge difference.  Kiwi Crate is a monthly subscription service, targeted at kids ages 3-7.  They deliver a box to your child each month that’s designed around a certain theme (like Dinosaurs, Garden, Superheroes, Space.)

In each box are 2-3 carefully designed and kid-tested projects, which cover a range of developmental areas and subjects, including art, science, and imaginative play.  All the materials and inspiration to encourage creativity and curiosity are included, “you just supply the kid!”

Kiwi Crate sent my two little ones a craft package to try out and for me to review.  The package came addressed to them and they were so excited to open the box and see what was inside!

The theme for our box was “Busy with Bugs”.

The box came with all the supplies for 2 different crafts plus extra learning materials and a special code to go online.  You can go to online for more information and additional project ideas to go along with your box’s theme.  Since we received the additional sibling add-on, Kiwi crate sent 2 sets of supplies and they both got to do the craft.

We decided to do the firefly craft first. The craft was really cute and easy.  It was actually a little bit of a struggle to get my 7 year old son to participate, but once I pulled out the supplies and he saw everything, he  got excited too!  (We did this on a Saturday and Dad even came over to help decorate the firefly- but he wouldn’t let me take a picture.)

Here is the finished craft, cute isn’t it?

The firefly craft included glow sticks.  We went to the darkest room in the house, which is the laundry room.  (Oops, I probably should have cleaned the laundry room before taking these pictures, but the kids were to excited to wait…)

We attached the fire flies to the included string and turned out the lights…  So cool!  The kids loved it!

Here they are in motion:

Disclosure: Kiwi Craft sent me a box to review; which we loved, obviously!  I would never recommend a product that I didn’t enjoy.
