Whenever we have hamburgers for dinner, we always have a couple of buns leftover. (Even though I make 8 burgers…  I just can’t figure out what happens to the missing burgers, lol!)  Does this ever happen to you?

One of my favorite (and tasty) ways to use those leftover buns is with these Hamburger Bun Mini Pizzas.

I’ve used all sorts of things for pizza crust: pita bread, flour and corn tortillas, English muffins, biscuits, but our very favorite base for mini pizzas are Hamburger buns!

I think it is something about the white bread of a hamburger bun that toasts up so crisp and brown that makes these turn out so so good!  My trick to getting the buns so flat and crispy is to roll them out flat with a rolling pin before adding the sauce.

The kids love to make their own mini pizzas.  An I almost always have a jar of my homemade pizza sauce ready for them to use,

  1. I do the same thing with left over burger buns except try flipping the bun, the white, sliced part of the bun on bottom with crust side of bun facing up getting the sauce. This keeps sauce from making bun “soggy”
