Mini Meat Pies

We like anything in miniature over here.  Especially if it is wrapped in crescent roll crust.

Say hello to the Mini-Meat Pie!  These were were very easy to make.  I used a can of reduced fat crescent roll dough, leftovers from our  Sloppy Joe’s the other night and a little bit of shredded cheese.  You could use any type of leftover pre-cooked meat mixture: taco meat, spaghetti sauce and meat, chicken rice and cheese, pork carnitas, leftover Taco skillet

This is how I did it:

Separate the crescent rolls.  Use a rolling pin to flatten them out and make slightly wider.  Spoon the mixture into the center of the dough, sprinkle with cheese if desired.

Fold the dough over to make a mini-pie.  Pinch all the edges sealed  tight.  (You don’t have to use parchment paper, I just did it, because it makes clean up easier.)  If you use the reduced fat rolls, you will want to lightly grease your baking sheet.

Bake in a 375 degree oven for 11 to 13 minutes.  I sprinkled shredded cheese on top of mine before I put them in the oven.

They were heartily enjoyed by all…

I came across a crescent roll recipe for the bread maker the other day.  I might give this a shot sometime since it sounds so easy.  Here it is:  bread machine crescent rolls recipe, from Sylvia’s Kitchen.
