New Shirred Peasant Dress

I finished a new dress for my daughter using the knits I bought a few weeks ago from Fabric.com. I am so pleased with how this dress turned out!

The dress is a simple peasant dress style with a shirred bodice.  (Get the full tutorial and free pattern in sizes 12 months to 8 here.)  This dress is really a quick and easy sew.  You can omit the shirring if desired and if you use a knit fabric, there will be no hemming necessary!

She was not in the mood to take pictures after coming home from our playdate; I guess she was just worn out, lol! I should have tried before we left the house, as she was so happy it was a “play date day!”

 Happy Sewing!

Now, I am off to squeeze in a 15-minute power nap with my little missy!

  2. What a beauty…and the dress is fantastic too! I will be trying this for my 6 year old. Thank you for the idea!

  3. That's adorable! I have wanted to try shirring but have been too intimidated…it's the elastic thread…I need to get over it. Your dress turned out beautifully!
