I have been participating a little bit here and there in the Roomspiration Blog Hop and Link Party that has been going on since September 12th.   I confess though, right now, my goals are not to re-decorate, they are just to get each room painted and get the decor I already have hung and put out!

I am pretty happy right now.  After a little over a year, we have finally spent some time working on the Master Bedroom.  The painting is almost done.  One of the rounded edges came loose on the tray ceiling and had to be repaired, so that paint needs to be touched up and we still need to caulk around the window sills and touch up some of the trim, but the walls are done!  Yea!  I was even able to get my hubby to hang some of the pictures and wall decor so I could take the photos for this post.

On to the Master Bedroom tour… I have not bought too many new items for this space.  I  am mostly trying to find a place for what we already have and then add pieces as the budget allows.  (I definitely have lots of ideas.)

This is what you see when you walk in the room:

A better view of the bed and side tables:

I have decided that the pictures above the bed are hung just a few inches too high.  Somebody is not going to be very happy when I make him move them down…  I also want to add something to the wall space above the lamps.  I am just not sure what yet. I am getting lots of ideas from pinterest and the roomspiration link up and am looking forward to finding just the right thing.

My bedding is about 10 years old.  It is in great shape and I still really like it so I won’t be changing it any time soon.  It has lasted so long because I have always used another comforter under it and just kept it folded at the end of the bed.

Here is a closer view of the sitting area:

There are a few things going on here that I am not crazy about:

The first thing is the curtains.  The color is not quite right and the fabric is some kind of thick polyester, so they are very stiff and hang weirdly. But they block out 100% of the light and were really cheap, about $12 per 95 inch panel, so they work for now.

I would also really like to find two comfortable chairs to face the window.  I just love to sit here and watch the birds at the feeder, but the chaise is just not right for that.

The bar area has an opening for a mini-fridge, but now I am thinking we should just have the cabinet maker add in another cabinet instead of putting in the fridge.

When I do finally settle on a couple of chairs for this area, I will redo the curtains at that time and hang them a little higher.

Can you spot the cardinal it the cedar tree?  He was hanging out while I was taking the pictures, so I got one of him too.  I took it right through the window:

Dresser area:

At some point, this leather chair and its mate will be moved to the “man room”.  When it does, I may put a big leaner mirror in its spot.  Mostly because I do not have a good full length mirror anywhere in the house.  Do you think it would be strange having two mirrors so close together?

Here is the shot heading out the door:

I will be repainting the little piece above the door very soon.  I went ahead and had my husband hang it, so I could just stick it back up when I am done with it.

I hope you’ve enjoyed the tour!  I have been working on my laundry room this week and am really looking forward to showing it off next week!
