We’ve Got Bats on the Wall!
I’ve got an awesomely fun Halloween Wall Decor project to share today – these paper bats are easy to make and look like they are just floating on the wall- perfect for your Halloween parties or just everyday spooky fun! To make it even easier for you, I’ve included a printable pdf bat template and a free bat cut file for your Silhouette.
I’ve seen these darling Paper Bats flying all over the walls of Pinterest lately, they seem to multiply every Halloween! Last year, I even ripped a page from a magazine with the intention to recreate to look (lost that page of course.) I just never really got to the project, too tired, too much work, ran out of time, etc… I can go on and on with my excuse list, lol.
I probably haven’t mentioned it, but last year, I did a bunch of research on the best cutting machine, (I asked a bunch of bloggers which one they liked more, the Silhouette or Cricut) and gifted myself a Silhouette Cameo for Christmas. The reason I never mentioned it? Well… That’s because, even though I set it up on my desk and plugged it in, I had never even TURNED IT ON!
Until today of course… Turns out, it’s not that hard to use!
This bat project totally inspired me to learn to use this machine. (I watched this video to get started.) Can’t wait to make a few more projects with fabric and vinyl.
So much easier to let the machine cut out the bats that to cut them by hand!
To hang the bats, I folded them down the center and added a glue dot to the back. (I tried regular tape first, but the paint finish in this room is too shiny and the bats were falling down. I added a glue dot and they stayed perfectly.)
Here is the Silhouette cut file link. ==>> SVG Bat file
Here is the pdf template. ==>> PDF Bat file.
I resized a couple of the bats for a bit of variety.
The kids were absolutely thrilled and so surprised when they saw these bats! (This is their computer station.) They love it and want me to make more bats! Maybe I will…
Have fun getting batty!
