Easy Washi Tape Storage

Today, I’m sharing this fabulous washi tape storage project I made for my craft room. Not only is it completely functional for organizing my washi tape, but it’s so pretty that it doubles as wall art!

The mailman just delivered the new Christmas-themed Washi tape I ordered for our holiday crafting.  After admiring how pretty the tape was, I started adding them to the rest of my collection when I realized I needed to come up with a better way to organize my Washi tape.

I thought a pretty way to store and display my washi tape collection would be to line them up and hang them somehow.  As I was brainstorming storage methods my eyes landed on a package of 12-inch wooden dowels that were still sitting out from the Angel wand I made for Halloween.

I’ve seen ribbon hung this way, so why not washi tape? I immediately went to Amazon and started searching for hooks.

I originally thought about using the little screw-in hooks that you see coffee mugs hanging from, but I ultimately decided to go with these wire hinged hooks from Command. These hinged hooks are perfect. The hinges move just enough so there is enough room for the washi tape to hang from the wall!

It really is as simple as it looks!

You can hang these little command hooks anywhere: walls, bookshelves, picture frames, or doors.  (Just measure, peel, and stick!)

I attached them to a piece of heavy-duty white cardstock and put them in a frame.  I hope we will be painting my craft room soon, and I didn’t want to attach them to the wall and then have to take them down again.  Plus, I used the same frame as my magnet board, which looks cute hanging next to each other.

I actually have room on the wall for one more frame. What do you suggest I put in it? (I noticed they have caddies, too. Maybe that is where I should store my scissors, seam rippers, and tape.)

One last look: so pretty!

Cute and so easy! Washi Tape storage and organization idea.

What do you think?  Let me know if you make something like this too!

  12. I'm admiring your collection of washi tape. If there is anything I cannot resist, it's buying a new roll whenever I get the opportunity. And what a great way to store them! Mine are currently sitting in a small colorful bucket from the Dollar Tree. It works, for now.
