The last days of summer are coming to a close… have you planned your End of Summer Hoorah?
This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Wet Ones® Hand Wipes. The opinions and text are all mine.
There are so many things I love about summertime…
Don’t tell the kids, but to tell the truth, my very favorite aspect of summer isn’t all of the extra free time, it’s the sleeping-in in the mornings! (No matter what time of the year it is, I go to sleep at the same time, so the amount of sleep I get really depends on my wake up time and it’s crazy what that extra hour and a half of sleep will do for my well-being and motivation. I’m definitely the type of girl who needs her sleep!)
So, you might ask, why am I up at 6:05 am on a summer morning – when it’s barely even light outside and I could still be snuggled up under the covers?
Well – We’ve got some awesomely fun plans for today and I’ve got to get my daily work and a few errands out of the way and then the kids and I are headed out for a last summer hoorah!
Since the kids mostly stayed home with me for the summer, (last year I had them alternating weeks at a camp that kept them very busy) I had a goal of doing a little something with them every day. Simple activities like going to the park, the library, scavenger hunts, various crafts, and misc. projects in the kitchen. (Read more about our 30 days of summer fun here.) The primary goal of these little activities (most of them were 30 minutes or less) was to just have a bit of uninterrupted quality time with the kids. (RE: no electronic distractions.) I have to say, I did a pretty good job of sticking to our plan.
The kids showed me a fun video they found over on the Gabe & Garret’s YouTube channel. After watching all the fun they had in the video, the kids wanted to plan their own last summer hoorah for the family. Sounded great to me! I let them choose the day and gave them a few options of how we could celebrate the last few days of summer. After a brief planning session, the kids opted to have an ice cream pool party at our neighborhood pool. (Definitely a great choice, IMO!)
I’m so happy they made it easy for me, and I headed over to Walmart to pick up all the essentials for a fabulous ice cream pool party: snacks, more sunscreen, pool toys and noodles, a variety of hand-held cream treats and of course my favorite Wet Ones® Hand Wipes to clean up all of the sticky ice cream fingers!
Wet Ones® Hand Wipes are America’s #1 Hand Wipe* and I always try to keep a package in my handbag and in the car for all our on the go activities. Not only do the wipes kill 99.99% of germs, but thanks to the aloe formula in each wipe, they are easy on the skin, for even the littlest of hands. (*#1 claim based on scan data for 52 weeks ending 6/17/17.)
