This Grilled Bean and Cheese Burrito is the perfect quick meal on busy nights and the kids go crazy over the crispy flaky tortilla!
I have a handful of “standby” meals for nights when I just don’t feel like cooking. (Quesadillas, burritos and eggs to just name a few.) These Bean and Cheese Burritos are a great option for nights like this. Something about the crispy, flaky outside and ooey-gooey inside that makes the burritos seem yummier.
To grill the Burritos, I used my George Forman grill, but you could use a grill pan, waffle iron or regular frying pan for a similar effect.
Grilled Bean and Cheese Burritos
- Prep Time: 2 minutes
- Cook Time: 5 minutes
- Total Time: 6 minutes
Ingredients
- Large burrito size tortillas
- Oil or butter
- Burrito filling of your choice (refried beans, chicken, rice, regular beans, corn, salsa, etc…)
For our burritos, I just used refried beans, cheese and Taco Bell sauce.
Instructions
- Spread your burrito filling down the middle of the tortilla and fold.
- Rub just a touch of oil or butter on the top of the burrito and place it on your grilling device. (GF grill, waffle iron or pan.)
- Cook for about 5 minutes or until the top of the burrito is golden brown.
- Serve with your sour cream/salsa/guacamole and enjoy! Careful, it’s hot!
I wanted to let you know that a food company called Fresh Plate LLC is using your burrito photos on their menu! freshplatellc. com called the Broritto.
Wow, I cant believe it!
What’s the sauce on the plate with the burrito
That is salsa and sour cream mixed together – the kids love it.
Simple and so yummy! I wanted to thank you for submitting this to Recipe Sharing Monday last week. The new party is up this morning and I'd love it if you joined us again. Have a great week!
I had these all the time as a kid and never think of them as an adult – thanks for the reminder!! They look YUM!
Boo, now I wish I didn't get rid of my GF grill. Those look so yummy! I love those "I don't want to cook" meals!
Everything is better grilled! I hope you’ll link this up today (or anytime this weekend) at One Creative Weekend on OneCreativeMommy.com.

Easy, fun, my kids could make these!!! I love that!
These look so good!! I used to work at a sandwich restaurant and I would always throw my sandwich on the grill to make it extra crispy…now I need to get a Foreman grill so I can make these at home!!
Oh my!
Too bad it's 9:30 P.M. or I'd go make me a burrito right now!
Thank you for sharing!
Yum! I am so craving a burrito now … and I also Love the Taco Bell sauce!
I love back bean burritos. My husband isn't nearly as big of a fan. I'm sure he'd love them if I grilled them like this. He loves anything crisped or breaded! Thanks for sharing!
looks good, my family would love these!!
