Even though many parts of the country are still getting snow and freezing weather, the south is warming up. The trees are putting out new green buds and the bluebonnets are shooting up all throughout the Texas hill country. Outdoor activities are starting to ramp up; camping, spring sports leagues and most importantly, the start of grilling season!

To kick off the 2017 grilling season, Johnsonville has partnered with former pro linebacker Brian Urlacher and is sponsoring the 2017 Chicago Polar Plunge, benefiting the Special Olympics!
The way Johnsonville sees it, if people are willing to jump in freezing water for a good cause, Johnsonville should be a part of it, as they don’t let a little bit of cold weather get in the way of what they love – grilling brats. Brian Urlacher passed out piping hot Johnsonville Brats, fresh off the burners of the Big Taste Grill so the freezing participants can of the Polar Plunge could warm up! (The Big Taste Grill is a 20-foot tall, 65-foot long grill, which cooks 2,500 brats an hour or 750 bratwurst at a time!)
I have a friend who participates in our local polar plunge every year. She always adds the event photos to Facebook for us to see and I am always amazed! (No polar plunge for me – I’m a heated pool kinda girl, lol.)
