Strawberry Lemonade Slushie Recipe:

My poor little guys…  They’ve been so disappointed!  I’ve been trying to plan a special outing for us since late March.  We have a tradition to visit our local strawberry picking farm during the week for a special mom/kid/day off from school day.  It’s not really about the strawberries, because really, we can get strawberries from the store anytime.  It’s more about the anticipation of the trip and the fun of visiting a real farm and being able to pick our own berries!

We’ve had a very busy and extremely wet spring this year.  Every time I put the strawberry picking trip on the schedule, something would come up and we’d have to postpone..  (Once again, we were supposed to go last Friday, but we woke to a steady rain.)

Since we canceled again, I thought I would treat the kids to something special as an after-school treat that Friday.  I had a freezer full of strawberries that really should be eaten before adding more, I decided to whip them up some Strawberry Lemonade Slushies!  Yum!

We tried one last time to get to the farm and were finally able to pick some fruit!

With all the rain and being so late in the season, the strawberries were mostly mush, so not too much luck there, but we definitely scored on the blackberries and peaches!

I will say, the wild blackberries growing behind our house taste much, much sweeter than the ones we picked at the farm.  (Though it was fun to pick them and not have to watch out the stinging nettle!)

  1. We made 1 cup frozen strawberries & 1 cup pre-made lemonade (crystal light). It turned out delicious. My kids ask me to make it every day. Thank you for the idea!

  2. Looks so refreshing . perfect for these hot summer days.

  3. Looks delicious! Question…if you didn’t want to use lemonade, could you just put water in it instead? I love lemonade and strawberries but I’m not a big fan of them together. Just curious. Thanks.

    1. I would use another type of juice instead of water.

  4. This looks delicious! I think I’ll try it as a cocktail!
