We’ve got birthday’s coming up around here, and it’s time to start putting some thought into what kind of parties we want to have this year (and how much work I really want to do, lol). I don’t know about you guys but I tend to go through phases on the types of parties I want to have for the kids.
For the first few years we lived in our house, of course, I wanted to have all the parties at home. But with all the cleaning and baking and DIY-ing involved with hosting a party, it can actually be quite a bit of work pull off a successful party at home.
After a few of these, I decided I didn’t want to deal with all the extra stress of a big party and for the last couple of years, we’ve been having our birthday parties at off-site party locations like the party pizza place, bowling alley, bounce house and craft stores. There’s a lot of great things about these sites that specialize in kids parties – they do almost all the work for you and not having to spend days getting the house ready is a major plus. The only downside really, is the expense. Plus, at many places, you still have to bring in your own snacks, drinks and treats.
This year, I’m definitely feeling the urge for a simple party at home. (Possibly since our house is for sale – it might be one of the last parties we have here… )
The keyword here is SIMPLE! I definitely want to keep the party planning easy and the guest list at a manageable level. (Like less than ten guests!)
Another part of keeping the planning simple is being able to find all my food, decorations and party supplies in one location!

It’s hard to remember hat I used for these. I think I ordered something off amazon.
