I have a simple and refreshing cocktail recipe for you today: A Brazilian Lime cocktail (or Caipirosca/Caipiroska- I’ve seen it spelled both ways and I’m not sure which is correct.)  The traditional form of this cocktail is made with a special liquor produced in Brazil called Cachaça, but this version made with vodka is pretty darn good. 🙂

(Be sure to check out my round up of all the Best Tropical Drinks we made while on vacation.)

Tropical Drink of the day: Brazilian Lime Cocktail (or Caipirosca)

Caipirosca – Brazilian Lime cocktail

  • 1 lime cut in to 6 wedges
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar (plus extra for the cup rim if desired)
  • 1 oz vodka
  • ice (crushed ice works best)

1.  Wash limes and cut into 6 wedges
2.  Put limes in a glass and add sugar Gently crush limes to release juice (press limes just firmly enough to release juice but not bitter oil from the peel). Stir until sugar dissolves. Add vodka and ice.
3.  If desired, prepare 2nd glass by dipping the rim in water and then sugar. Carefully pour vodka lime mixture into sugared glass.

Enjoy!  If you like it, don’t forget to pin it!

  1. I am so glad that you enjoy caipiroska, a refreshing drink from my home country, Jamie!

  2. sounds good – I LOVE Caipirinhas (with fresh sugar cane) so this is a nice substitute if you don't have cachaca.
