The Holiday season is my favorite time of the year, I especially love these last couple of weeks leading up to Christmas. It always amazes me how certain scents can bring back such a rush of memories. The strong spicy smell of cinnamon and fresh-cut pine or cedar always brings back childhood memories of Christmas and I feel a rush of anticipation for all of the excitement to come!

My little guys won’t be little for too much longer and it’s important to me to share this excitement and keep up with our family traditions- and maybe make a few new traditions as well.  One of our favorite traditions revolves around decorating the tree.

I always start a big slow cooker full of Spiced Apple Cider in the morning and as we begin to decorate the tree, the warming cider fills the house with a delicious cinnamon apple aroma. The kids love to spread out all the ornaments and help decide which goes where. I hope they will remember these fun family moments.

  1. This is the bomb! Just replace the regular sugar for a monfruit, or erythritol. So good.

Subbed maple syrup for milk and sugar, used pecans. Wonderful!
