Today, I’m sharing a few of my family’s Holiday traditions and the recipe for this yummy Whipped Cranberry and Walnut Cream Cheese. (Plus a big thank you to Glade® for sponsoring this post!)
The Holiday season is my favorite time of the year, I especially love these last couple of weeks leading up to Christmas. It always amazes me how certain scents can bring back such a rush of memories. The strong spicy smell of cinnamon and fresh cut pine or cedar always brings back childhood memories of Christmas and I feel a rush of anticipation for all of the excitement to come!
My little guys won’t be little for too much longer and it’s important to me to share this excitement and keep up with our family traditions- and maybe make a few new traditions as well.
One of my favorite traditions is the decorating of the Christmas tree. We have a big tree and my hubby usually sets it up several days before we actually decorate it. I’m not purposely trying to build the anticipation of decorating the tree, it’s just that the tree is very large and it takes us a few days to get the lights working and everything “fluffed” and ready for the garland, ribbons and ornaments.
I always start a big slow cooker full of Spiced Apple Cider in the morning and as we begin to decorate the tree, the warming cider fills the house with a delicious cinnamon apple aroma. The kids love to spread out all the ornaments and help decide which goes where. I hope they will remember these family moments.
A new favorite breakfast addition is this DIY Whipped Cranberry and Walnut Cream Cheese Recipe. I like to make a huge batch in my mixer and we’ll have it for several mornings. If you’re a fan of cream cheese, I’m sure you’ll love this easy recipe too. (It also makes a great hostess gift!)

Another way I like to keep those warm, happy holiday feelings around is by using scented candles.
