Triple Layer Brownies
I wanted to keep the recipe for these triple-layer brownies simple, so the brownie layer is made using a boxed brownie mix, but the cookie dough layer is made from scratch. You can also use pre-made cookie dough or your own homemade brownie recipe—whatever works for you. Any combination of premix and homemade will taste great, believe me!
These triple-layer brownies are super indulgent. They’re perfect when you can’t decide whether to make a batch of cookies or brownies. Now, you can have both in one pan.
The combination of flavors and textures of the cookie dough, Oreo cookies, and brownies are guaranteed to satisfy any sweet tooth.

- Salt | Salt enhances the flavor of this base layer.
- All-purpose flour |
- Chocolate chips | You can use semi-sweet, milk, dark, or a combination of these options.
For the Oreo layer:

How To Make These Triple Layered Brownies
1 Prep: Preheat the oven to 350ºF and line the bottom of a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
2 Prepare the brownie layers: Prepare the brownie batter as per the instructions on the packaging.

3 Make the cookie layer: Cream the butter with the sugars in a separate bowl. Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until combined. Slowly add in the flour, baking soda, and salt and mix again. Fold in the chocolate chips.

4. Layer the brownies: Place the cookie layer on the bottom, followed by as many Oreos as you can fit, pressing down with a spatula or your fingers. Pour the brownie batter over the Oreos.

5 Bake the triple layer brownies: Place in the oven for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. Let the brownies rest for 1-2 hours before cutting and serving.

Recipe Tips
- Don’t compromise on the cooling time; it is necessary for the brownies to set.
- Store brands or any other sandwich cream cookies are good substitutes for Oreos.
- When serving, cut it into small pieces as this dessert is super decadent.
Variations
- For the ultimate indulgent brownie, add a layer of hot fudge sauce over the Oreos before adding the brownie batter.
- Add a touch of ground espresso to the brownie batter for a deep flavor.
- Peanut butter cup brownies: Instead of using Oreos, use peanut butter cups for the middle layer.
- S’more brownies: use graham cracker cookie dough for the bottom layer, and place mini marshmallows and chocolate chips on top of the cookie dough before adding the brownie batter.
- Nutella brownies: super extra decadent. Spread a layer of Nutella over the cookie dough before adding the Oreos and brownies batter.
- Add chopped nuts to the cookie or brownie layer for some crunch.
Storage Suggestions
- Place the brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days to store them. Or you can store them in the refrigerator for up to a week.
- To freeze the brownies, allow them to cool completely, then wrap them tightly in plastic wrap. Place them in a freezer-friendly container before placing them in the freezer for up to three months. Defrost at room temperature before enjoying. Or you can reheat them for a few minutes in the microwave to make them warm and gooey again.

FAQs
Can you make these brownies ahead of time?
Yes, you can make them up to 2 days in advance and keep them in an airtight container at room temperature.
Can I use pre-packaged cookie dough for the bottom layer?
Yes, you can! A 16oz tube of chocolate chip cookie dough will be enough.
Can I use double-stuffed Oreos?
Yes, and they will add even more creaminess and sweetness. You can actually use any kind of Oreo you want – flavored, red velvet, double stuffed, regular, etc.
How do I prevent them from sticking to the pan?
Line your baking pan with parchment paper, making sure it hangs over the edges for easy lifting. A light spray of non-stick cooking spray before adding the cookie dough also helps.
Do I really need to wait before cutting them?
Yes! This is key to getting clean slices. Once baked, allow the triple layer brownies to cool completely for at least 1-2 hours. Warm brownies can fall apart when sliced (though they’re still deliciously gooey)
Where did the name slutty brownies come from?
This Brownie Recipe is also known as Slutty Brownies. While I don’t care for the name “Slutty Brownies” (hence: my title, triple layer brownies), I do agree that the name is actually quite fitting. These brownies are unapologetically decadent and shamelessly indulgent. According to my web search, “slutty brownies” was first used by a blogger, The Londoner, in 2011 to describe a decadent dessert made with layers of cookie dough, Oreo cookies, and brownie batter. She explained that she called them “slutty brownies” because “they’re oh so easy, and more than a little bit filthy.”
